No. 7 Cab Ride
The Alberni Pacific Railway, and its engine crews, are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity for a “Cab Ride” aboard the No. 7 - our 1929 Baldwin 2-8-2ST steam locomotive. Experience the sight, sounds, and smells of what railroading was like in the last century as you travel to/or from the McLean Mill National Historic Site. The engineer and fireman will be happy to explain to you how the train operates, and even give you a chance to blow the whistle. Participants will also have the opportunity to interact with the engine crew before and after this 35-minute (approximate) experience.

Clothing: Participants are asked to wear cotton clothing (no nylon) and a sturdy pair of walking shoes or boots (no open-toed shoes). No skirts please.
Safety: As safety is of outmost concern, participants will be instructed in safe procedures and will be asked to sign a waiver. Participants may be allowed/not allowed in the cab at the Engineer’s discretion.
Minimum Age: Must be 16 years or older.
Other: Sorry, but this program is not handicapped accessible.
As with any railway - motive power, schedules and fares are subject to change without notice. Adverse weather conditions, or technical/safety problems may prevent operations.
Rates: A regular ticket for the train ride is required plus the Cab Ride fare shown below. (ie:1 Adult roundtrip = $32.95 + Cab Ride (one-way) $40.00 = Total Fare $72.95 + taxes.
